Celebration Pediatrics Family,

As the medical director for our medical practive we believe it is important to provide some encouraging words as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many of you, I have been on an unexpected but voluntary furlough. As a result, all of us have been challenged over the last few weeks with trying to find ways to handle all the additional stress and responsibilities associated with keeping ourselves, our families, and our children healthy..

As you continue to listen to news reports about the pandemic, please remember that there is a constant stream of new information as it pertains to healthy children.  All current recommendations will surely change over time.  Many restrictions will begin to relax, but it would be a serious mistake to suddenly stop all COVID-19 precautions.

To quote a very reassuring conclusion from a comprehensive study published in the JAMA Pediatrics stating:

“Children mainly acquire SARS-CoV-2 infection from their family members but seem to experience less severe COVID-19 than adults. Children seem to present mild symptoms if any at all. Children usually see a good prognosis and recover within 1 to 2 weeks after disease onset.”

With school likely to re-open in the fall, NOW would be a great time to start to schedule those back to school well exams and any delayed or overdue appointments. We expect to have full availability for all needed appointments by June 1, 2020.

Ensuring our children stay healthy during the coronavirus pandemic is our top priority!

Give us a call at 407-566-9700 to schedule your appointment today!
