Janessa believes every child deserves compassionate, individualized care and that parents should feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their healthcare journey. She strives to build lasting relationships with families by creating a welcoming environment where questions are encouraged, concerns are addressed, and children feel comfortable receiving care. Her goal is to provide evidence-based, family-centered care while making every visit a positive experience for both patients and caregivers.
Janessa Lau, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 10 years of pediatric healthcare experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Barry University. Pediatrics has been Janessa’s passion from the very beginning of her career.
Janessa began her nursing career at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where she cared for children with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions on the pediatric medical-surgical unit. She later joined Nicklaus Children’s Urgent Care Centers, providing care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. These experiences strengthened her passion for pediatric medicine and inspired her to advance her career as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Today, Janessa provides comprehensive pediatric primary care, including well-child visits, sick visits, sports physicals, preventive care, and the management of both acute and chronic conditions. She enjoys educating families, promoting healthy growth and development, and helping children establish lifelong healthy habits.
Outside of the office, Janessa enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, especially visiting loved ones back home in Miami. Since relocating to Orlando, she has enjoyed exploring the area and making new memories with those closest to her. She is also an avid sports fan and can often be found cheering on her favorite South Florida teams.
