Childhood Immunizations

Vaccine-related diseases are rare in the United States largely because we have been immunizing against them.

It is still reasonable to ask whether it’s really worthwhile to keep immunizing.

Unless we are able to eliminate the possibility of the disease, it it important to continue to protect our children. Even if there are only a few fatalities today, if we remove the vaccinations, people will become infected and diseases will spread.  This would result in undoing the progress we have made over the years.

  Vaccine services may include:

  • Proper immunizations at each designated well child visit
  • Physician counseling on vaccinations
  • Vaccination Information Sheets (VIS) given at each visit
  • Direct upload and access to information in the Florida Shots data base
  • School required vaccination forms

Choosing to vaccinate your children is one of the best choices you’ll make to protect their health and well-being from an early age and to reduce their chances of exposure to potentially life-threatening ailments during these important formative years.

In most cases, these immunizations are necessary before your child is permitted to start school. A simple consultation with a knowledgeable pediatrician is all it takes to learn which immunizations your child needs, at what age they’re recommended, and the benefits of choosing this level of protection for your child.

At Celebration Pediatrics, we want to be partners in your child’s health and are happy to discuss any concerns a parent or guardian may have.

“On a daily basis, parents ask me questions about vaccines, vaccine safety, and why we need to continue to vaccinate our children. The answers are simple and straightforward. We want to prevent unnecessary childhood deaths and severe disabilities from infections. The vaccine schedules are designed to protect children, not harm them. During my time in Orlando, I have personally taken care of unvaccinated children who died or were severely impaired from bacterial meningitis, measles, and whooping cough.”
