Encouraging Words from Medical Director, Dr. Bob
Dear Celebration Pediatrics Patients:
I am writing these comments from home where like many of you I have been on an unexpected but voluntary furlough. All of us have been challenged over the last few weeks with trying to find ways to handle all the additional stress and responsibilities associated with keeping ourselves, our families and all our loved ones healthy and safe. As you continue to listen to news reports and medical information about the pandemic, please remember that there is a constant stream of new information and all current recommendations will surely change over time. I believe many restrictions will begin to relax very soon, but it would be a serious mistake to suddenly stop all COVID-19 precautions for ourselves and our families.
However, I would like to print a very reassuring conclusion from a comprehensive study published today in the JAMA Pediatrics stating… “Children mainly acquire SARS-CoV-2 infection from their family members but seem to experience less severe COVID-19 than adults, presenting mild symptoms, if any, good prognosis, and recovering within 1 to 2 weeks after disease onset.”
At Celebration Pediatrics we will continue to provide quality and safe pediatric care for your children. With school likely to reopen in the fall and summer nearly upon us, now would be a great time to start to schedule those back to school well exams and any delayed or overdue appointments. We expect to have full availability for all needed appointments by June 1.
Robert “Dr. Bob” Dabrow, Medical Director
